Taylor Swift Kicks Off Eras Tour in Miami with Surprise Guest Florence Welch

Taylor Swift kicked off her highly anticipated Eras Tour concert in Miami, Florida, bringing along surprise guest Florence Welch to the stage. The crowd erupted in cheers as the two artists performed “Florida” from Swift's latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. This wasn't their first collaboration; they previously shared the stage during a concert at Wembley Stadium in August.

After their performance, Welch took to social media to express her gratitude to Swift for the opportunity. She also thanked the audience in Florida, posting a video with the message, “FLORIDA!!! Thank you so much for having me, Taylor Swift.”

The concert was a star-studded event, with celebrities like Hoda Kotb, Savannah Guthrie, Jenna Bush Hager, Tom Brady, and Serena Williams enjoying the show from a VIP box. Kotb, Bush Hager, and Guthrie even shared a photo of themselves at the concert, captioning it, “SWIFTIES!!!”

Welch reflected on her experience recording “Florida” with Swift, admitting that she initially overlooked the significance of the collaboration. She shared, “I almost didn’t think of its scale... there’s the sort of bigness of [Taylor Swift the phenomenon], and then there’s the Taylor I spend time with in the studio, who is just the sweetest and most down to earth.”

Welch recalled how Swift approached her with a concept and story for the song, making the recording process enjoyable. When the song was finally released, Welch's excitement was evident: “And then when it came out, I was like, ‘Oh, s---!'”

This performance marked the first of three nights Swift will be performing in Miami. Afterward, she will continue her tour with stops in New Orleans and Canada, wrapping up the Eras Tour that began in March 2023.
