Charli XCX Praises Bowen Yang's 'SNL' Impression: 'He Did a Great Job'

Charli XCX recently shared her thoughts on Bowen Yang’s impression of her on Saturday Night Live during an interview on The Howard Stern Show. When asked if she found the sketch, which aired during the Season 50 opener, flattering or offensive, Charli responded with enthusiasm.

The singer, currently on tour with Troye Sivan, called SNL “iconic” and revealed that both she and Sivan had a feeling the sketch was coming. She expressed her admiration for Yang, saying, "I love Bowen, and honestly, I think he did a great job." Charli also complimented the wig used in the sketch, noting how impressed she was with its accuracy.

The episode, hosted by Jean Smart with musical guest Jelly Roll, featured Yang impersonating several figures, including Charli. In the sketch, Yang donned all-black attire, sunglasses, and a wavy wig, mimicking the pop star’s signature look. The segment, titled "The Talk Talk Show with Charli XCX," playfully explored the concept of "brat" by labeling various objects as either "brat" or "nat."

The sketch also included appearances from Sarah Sherman as Troye Sivan and several other guest stars, making it one of the standout moments of the night.
