Chappell Roan Confronts Photographer Over Past Grammy Disrespect, Cancels Shows to Prioritize Mental Health

Chappell Roan recently confronted a photographer at the premiere of Olivia Rodrigo: GUTS World Tour on October 25 at NYA Studios EAST in Los Angeles. Roan spotted the same photographer who had reportedly been rude to her at a Grammy event and demanded an apology. In a viral video, Roan can be heard calling out the photographer, saying, "You yelled at me at the Grammy party...You were so rude to me. And I deserve an apology." A staff member attempted to step in and ease the tension, though it’s unclear if the photographer ever apologized.

Since the Grammy incident, Roan has been vocal about setting boundaries with aggressive fans and paparazzi. At the 2024 MTV VMAs pre-show, held at UBS Arena in Long Island, another photographer reportedly screamed a curse at her. Roan pointed out the individual and, though visibly shaken, stood her ground. Speaking with Entertainment Tonight afterward, she explained, "This is quite overwhelming and quite scary...the carpet is horrifying. And I yelled back! You don't get to yell at me like that."

Following the VMAs incident, Roan announced she’d be canceling two scheduled performances at the All Things Go music festival. Apologizing to fans, she shared that her rapid rise to fame had become overwhelming and that she needed time to focus on her mental health. The Good Luck, Babe singer reassured fans that she’d be back, grateful for their patience and understanding as she prioritized her well-being.
