Bill Maher Sued for $150 Million by Laura Loomer Over Affair Claims

Bill Maher is facing a significant lawsuit from Laura Loomer, a prominent supporter of Donald Trump, who is seeking $150 million in damages. The controversy stems from Maher's comments on his show, "Real Time With Bill Maher," where he suggested that Loomer had an affair with the former president.

In legal documents acquired by TMZ, Loomer claims that Maher made "false, malicious, and defamatory" statements during a September 13, 2024, episode. She argues that Maher implied she was in an arrangement with Trump to influence the upcoming election, referencing her age and appearance as fitting his type. Maher stated, “I think maybe Laura Loomer’s in an arranged relationship… I think it might be Laura Loomer.”

Loomer firmly denies these allegations, stating that she never had any sexual relationship with Trump and highlighting that he is married. She contends that Maher has no evidence to back up his claims and accuses him of fabricating the story for publicity and financial gain, while also implicating HBO in the alleged scheme.

The dispute escalated when Trump responded to Maher’s comments on his Truth Social platform, calling the comedian a "befuddled mess" and criticizing his show as "boring."

Loomer’s lawsuit has raised eyebrows, with many curious to see how the court will rule on the matter. Maher has not yet commented on the lawsuit or the allegations against him.
