A$AP Rocky Reveals How He Knew Rihanna Was 'The One' and Shares Insights on Family Life

A$AP Rocky recently shared how he realized Rihanna was "the one" in an interview with W Magazine. The rapper, 35, and the singer-entrepreneur, 36, are parents to two sons: RZA, 2, and Riot, 1. Rocky, promoting his new album Don't Be Dumb, spoke about his relationship with Rihanna, which he says began around 2012.

When asked how he knew Rihanna was special, Rocky said, "I knew from when we were younger. I believe we both did. Therefore, as we grew older, it made sense. We kind of reconnected."

Rocky highlighted a key moment in their relationship while recalling the 2013 music video for "Fashion Killa," which was filmed at the Mercer Hotel in Manhattan. Rihanna played his love interest in the video, and Rocky said, "This is very special because this is where she fell in love with me."

Though rumors swirled about their relationship after a performance at the 2012 MTV VMAs, the couple didn’t officially begin dating until 2019. Now, they share two children together. Rocky also opened up about his sons’ personalities, noting that RZA is more like him—an introvert—while Riot is extroverted, much like his mother.

The rapper took a moment to praise Rihanna’s parenting, stating, "She is a great mother." He humorously added that while she's an excellent mom, she couldn’t be a dad, just as he couldn’t be a mom, calling their roles unique but complementary.
