In her response, Ariana expressed disappointment over the situation. She explained that she couldn’t recall meeting Elvira because she experienced an anxiety attack and left the event early with her family. Ariana acknowledged that she struggled with public crowds at that time and offered a sincere apology if she had offended Elvira.
Ariana also took the opportunity to thank Elvira for her kindness toward her family, noting that her mother had only positive things to say about her. She humorously added that her mom might feel differently now and promised to discuss it with her. Ariana concluded her message by praising Elvira as the "queen of Halloween."
The drama began when Elvira spoke about her encounter with Ariana during a Q&A session at Knott's Scary Farm. She recalled that Ariana attended one of her events with around 20 guests for free and requested photos with Elvira. However, when Elvira asked for a photo in return, Ariana reportedly declined, saying, “No, I don’t really do that,” before leaving early while her relatives remained.
Elvira’s comments sparked a wave of reactions on social media. Some users sided with her, claiming Ariana's actions were more egregious than her infamous donut-licking incident. Others defended Ariana, arguing that her refusal was not a big deal and questioning who Elvira was.
Despite the backlash, Ariana remains a prominent figure and is expected to shine when "Wicked" hits theaters this November.
