Anne Hathaway Apologizes for 'Cringe' Interview with Reporter Kjersti Flaa

Anne Hathaway recently apologized for a "cringe" interview with journalist Kjersti Flaa after Flaa shared a clip of their 2012 conversation on TikTok. Flaa, who previously revealed her struggles with a difficult interview with Blake Lively, expressed her surprise when Hathaway's representative reached out with an apology just one day after the video was posted.

In her TikTok video, Flaa shared that Hathaway sent her a long email detailing her feelings during the interview and apologizing for what she described as an "awful interview." Flaa was touched by Hathaway's message, saying, "I was pretty shocked. I had not expected her to reach out to me at all."

The original interview took place while Hathaway was promoting “Les Misérables.” Flaa began with a light-hearted request, asking Hathaway to respond to questions through song. Hathaway, however, declined the offer, saying, “Well, I won’t be doing that, but you’re more than welcome to sing.” Throughout the interview, Hathaway’s responses were brief, often answering questions with a simple "No."

Flaa reflected on the experience, noting, “It was a very personal note,” and she chose not to share the details of Hathaway's email. However, she did express gratitude for the apology and offered to conduct another interview with the actress. Hathaway responded positively, inviting Flaa to interview her for her upcoming film set to release in May.

Flaa emphasized the importance of taking responsibility for one's mistakes, stating, "Sorry is such a powerful word." She also noted that despite her past experience with Lively, where she felt unacknowledged, she holds no hard feelings about the incident with Hathaway.
