Reflecting on the loss, Garfield explained, "I just miss her a lot," but he noted that it’s okay to feel that sadness. He described it as a reminder of the love he had for his mom, saying, “That sadness is kind of a gift… it means that you really loved somebody when you miss them.”
Garfield shared how thinking of his mom brings back memories of the affection she gave him, like the cuddles and hugs. These memories, though bittersweet, make him feel close to her. He added that while he misses her, he’s grateful for all the joy she brought to his family and those around her, allowing him to celebrate her life even as he mourns.
Garfield’s latest film, We Live in Time, premiered in the U.S. on October 11. He stars alongside Florence Pugh, with the movie exploring the highs and lows of a couple’s relationship over a decade.
