Johnny Depp Praises Robert Downey Jr. After His Broadway Debut in McNeal

Johnny Depp has expressed his admiration for Robert Downey Jr. following the actor's Broadway debut in the play McNeal. After the performance, Depp took to Instagram to share his thoughts, calling Downey Jr. a "dear, brilliant friend" and praising the cast's work at the Lincoln Center Theater. He encouraged his followers to see the play if they hadn't yet.

Depp was in New York City this week for the opening of his own art exhibition titled A Bunch of Stuff, where he described art as his sanctuary amidst life's challenges. He emphasized that while the creative process isn't always easy, it's essential for him.

Downey Jr. announced his limited engagement in McNeal, describing it as a "timely and important" story about the future of art. The play features Jacob McNeal, a celebrated writer and Nobel Prize contender, who grapples with personal issues, including a strained relationship with his son and an obsession with artificial intelligence. McNeal will run until November 24, 2024.
