Pamela Anderson to Receive Golden Eye Award at Zurich Film Festival

Pamela Anderson will be honored with the Golden Eye award at the 20th Zurich Film Festival for her versatile career. She will also present her latest film, The Last Showgirl, directed by Gia Coppola, at the event. The award ceremony will take place on October 4, 2024.

In The Last Showgirl, Anderson plays Shelley, a 50-year-old showgirl facing the end of her long career in Las Vegas. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, where Anderson's performance received high praise. Critics noted her portrayal as deeply emotional, with the Zurich Film Festival's Artistic Director, Christian Jungen, calling it her best work, even suggesting it deserves an Oscar nomination.

The film features a strong supporting cast, including Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays Shelley’s colleague Annette, and Billie Lourd, who stars as her estranged daughter Hannah. Kiernan Shipka, Brenda Song, and Dave Bautista also have prominent roles.

Along with Anderson, other honorees at the Zurich Film Festival include Alicia Vikander, Jude Law, and Kate Winslet. Roeg Sutherland, known for his work in the film industry, will receive the Game Changer Award. The festival runs from October 3 to 13, 2024.
