Miley Cyrus Sued for Alleged Copyright Infringement Over 'Flowers'

Miley Cyrus is facing a lawsuit from Tempo Music Investments, which accuses her of copying Bruno Mars’ hit song "When I Was Your Man" for her own track "Flowers." Tempo Music, claiming to hold part of the copyright for Mars' song, argues that there are significant musical similarities between the two tracks. They allege that "Flowers" mirrors the melody, harmony, and chorus of "When I Was Your Man," including similar chord progressions and lyrics.

The lawsuit, reported by TMZ, asserts that the connections between the songs are too substantial to be coincidental, suggesting that Cyrus deliberately copied Mars' work. Tempo Music points out that while "Flowers" earned Cyrus a Grammy Award, the song’s success may be tied to its resemblance to Mars' chart-topping track from a decade ago.

Tempo Music claims that Miley Cyrus, her label, and her producers had access to "When I Was Your Man" and is seeking financial compensation. Additionally, they want to prevent the distribution and performance of "Flowers." Notably, Bruno Mars himself is not involved in the lawsuit.
