Kristen Bell Reveals She Never Knew Where Gossip Girl Was Filmed

Kristen Bell, the 44-year-old actress known for voicing Gossip Girl, recently made a surprising admission: she didn’t know where the iconic series was filmed. In a candid interview with Bustle, Bell revealed that she never visited the show’s set, as all her lines were recorded remotely from Los Angeles.

During the conversation, Bell expressed her disconnect from the production location of Gossip Girl, which is set in New York City's Upper East Side. She said, "The funny thing is, as Gossip Girl, I was only on a microphone in Los Angeles; I was never shooting with them." When her interview partner, Adam Brody, jokingly suggested that the show was filmed in Montreal, Bell accepted the comment, saying, "Okay, first time hearing of it." It wasn't until Brody corrected himself to say it was actually filmed in New York that she realized he was joking. Laughing, she responded, "Oh, New York. You were joking?"

Brody humorously pointed out, "You can see how involved she was," to which Bell clarified that her role was simply to "get on the mic and give the sass" as the mysterious Gossip Girl.

Bell also reminisced about her early work with Leighton Meester, recalling their time together on Veronica Mars. She fondly remembered their scenes, especially one where Meester’s character was involved with a teacher.

Since her Gossip Girl days, Bell has taken on diverse roles in films like Frozen and series such as The Good Place. She is now focused on balancing her career with family life, prioritizing her time with husband Dax Shepard and their two daughters, Lincoln and Delta. Although she admits that it's challenging for a "people-pleaser" like her to say no, she is learning to carve out time for relaxation, stating, "I like pausing a lot. I find it vital."
