Kate Winslet Shares Retirement Plans and Role in Lee on The Late Show

Kate Winslet is keeping her retirement plans under wraps as she promotes her upcoming war film, Lee, which also stars Andy Samberg. During her recent appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Winslet discussed her reluctance to age, which sparked conversation about her future in acting. When Colbert pointed out that she hadn’t appeared in any films last year, Winslet responded playfully, saying, "I don't think I can say what I would do because it's so inappropriate. No, I can't."

Colbert suggested she whisper her thoughts, to which Winslet humorously replied, "No, I actually can't because it's rude and sexual." She reassured her fans, stating, "Listen, I ain't never getting old! That's all I need to say right now. No retiring for me."

In Lee, Winslet portrays Lee Miller, a former Vogue cover girl who became a war photographer. Beyond her acting role, Winslet is also a producer for the film. She shared that she had a basic understanding of Miller's story but gained deeper insight after meeting Anthony, Lee Miller’s son. He expressed his hope that Winslet would play his mother, which left her feeling honored. Winslet recalled their meeting, saying, "I did sort of think, 'Okay, do I believe that?' But he was just completely wonderful."
