Kanye West Settles Assault Lawsuit Filed by Autograph Seeker

Justin Poplawski, the man who sued Kanye West for an alleged attack outside Soho Warehouse in Downtown L.A., has dropped his lawsuit after reaching a settlement with the musician. According to court documents obtained by In Touch, the agreement, finalized on September 11, covers the entire case.

In February, Poplawski filed a lawsuit claiming assault and battery. He stated that he was waiting outside the venue for West on January 13, 2022, when the rapper confronted him. Poplawski alleged that West yelled at him, saying he would "make a f--king example out of you," and then struck him in the face. He claimed that after asking for an apology, West continued to hit him, causing severe injuries.

Poplawski’s lawyer claimed that West acted with intent to harm, resulting in damages including physical pain, mental suffering, and emotional distress. The suit sought unspecified damages for medical bills and trauma.

West denied the allegations, stating his actions were self-defense. His lawyer argued that West acted reasonably given the circumstances. Following the initial lawsuit, West's attorney withdrew from the case, citing a lack of communication and payment issues.

Recently, West and his wife, Bianca Censori, were seen in Japan. Earlier this month, West also missed a separate $2 million court hearing.
