Margaret Qualley Joins Cast of Happy Gilmore 2 with Help from Husband Jack Antonoff
Margaret Qualley has revealed a fun story about how she secured a role in Happy Gilmore 2, the highly anticipated sequel to Adam Sandler's iconic 1996 sports comedy. During her recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Qualley confirmed the rumors that she will be part of the cast, sharing that her husband, musician Jack Antonoff, played a key role in helping her land the role. Qualley, a self-confessed Sandler fan, was ecstatic about the opportunity, saying, "It's the best thing that’s ever happened to me," even though her part is relatively small.
Qualley recalled how she immediately contacted her agents after hearing about the Netflix sequel, expressing her willingness to take on any role, no matter how minor. She even joked about Antonoff "lying" about her golf skills when Sandler inquired, saying, "I can’t golf, but he lied for the family."
Despite her limited golfing experience, Qualley is thrilled to join a cast that includes returning stars Julie Bowen and Christopher McDonald, as well as new faces like Bad Bunny, Benny Safdie, Lee Trevino, and NFL star Travis Kelce. Production for Happy Gilmore 2 is already underway in New Jersey, with fans eagerly awaiting the release of the sequel.
