George Clooney Reveals Hilarious Pranks on Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt, and Meryl Streep

George Clooney, known for his charming on-screen presence, also has a reputation for being a notorious prankster in real life. During his recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on September 17, 2024, Clooney opened up about his love for pulling pranks on his friends and co-stars.

One of his favorite tricks involves sending letters that appear to be from famous people, including former president Bill Clinton. Clooney recounted how Jimmy Kimmel once gifted him fake stationery from Clinton, as well as from fellow actor Brad Pitt. Clooney shared that he enjoys referencing an actor's worst film in these prank letters. He admitted that the one he sent in Pitt’s name was particularly harsh.

Clooney also revealed that he had pranked Don Cheadle and Mission: Impossible star Tom Cruise. One of the letters he sent to Cruise pretended to offer a sequel to Interview with the Vampire, with Brad Pitt wanting to take on the role of Lestat. According to Clooney, Brad Pitt later shared with Jimmy Kimmel that Cruise had actually called him, thinking the offer was real. Pitt, confused by the conversation, asked, “What are you talking about?”

Meryl Streep also fell victim to Clooney’s antics when he sent her a box of CDs to help with dialect training, making her another star on his prank list.

For those who may not remember, Cruise and Pitt starred together in the 1994 film Interview with the Vampire, where they played vampires living through the 18th and 19th centuries. The movie also featured a young Kirsten Dunst.

Fans of Pitt and Clooney can see them together again in their latest film Wolfs, which premiered in select theaters on September 20. The movie is set to be released on Apple TV+ on September 27.
