Diddy Placed on Suicide Watch in Jail, Lawyer Says He's Not Suicidal

Sean "Diddy" Combs has been placed on suicide watch at the Metropolitan Detention Center (MDC) in New York City, though his lawyer insists the music mogul is not suicidal. According to his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, the measure was a standard protocol for "new, high-profile inmates" and not a reflection of Diddy's mental state. Agnifilo, who spent six hours with Diddy at the federal facility on Thursday, stated that the rapper and businessman was "strong, healthy, confident, and focused on his defense."

Diddy was arrested Monday night in Manhattan after a federal grand jury indicted him on charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transporting individuals to engage in prostitution. Since his arrest, Diddy has remained in custody while his legal team continues to push for his release.

Despite multiple attempts to secure bail, two judges have denied the requests, agreeing with federal prosecutors who argue that Diddy poses a risk to the community and may have tampered with witnesses in the case. Agnifilo has requested that Diddy be transferred from the MDC, which has a reputation for poor living conditions, to the Essex County Correctional Facility in Newark, New Jersey. The court is currently reviewing the request.
