Chris Martin Confirms Coldplay to Release Final Two Albums Before Retiring

Chris Martin has revealed Coldplay's plans to stop making music, marking the end of an era for the iconic rock band. Fans have enjoyed nearly three decades of their music, with hits like Yellow and Clocks, but it seems the group will only release two more albums before calling it quits.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1, Chris, 47, confirmed the band’s decision to limit their discography to 12 albums. Coldplay’s upcoming album Moon Music will be their 10th, with two more "proper albums" left before they step away. "Less is more, and for some of our critics, even less would be more!" Chris joked. He also compared Coldplay’s catalog to that of other music legends, noting that heroes like The Beatles and Bob Marley released a similar number of albums.

Coldplay is currently on their Music of the Spheres World Tour, which will conclude in 2025. The band continues to thrill fans around the globe, with upcoming shows at London’s Wembley Stadium and Hull’s Craven Park next year.

However, ticket sales have caused frustration among fans, especially after technical issues on Ticketmaster’s website left many struggling to secure presale access. Disabled fans have voiced their anger over accessibility challenges in the process, with Coldplay adding more dates to meet demand.

Despite the looming end, Chris teased the possibility of side projects with his bandmates—Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion—but emphasized that these ventures would differ from the Coldplay sound we know and love.
