Clooney and Pitt Share Optimism Ahead of Presidential Election

George Clooney and Brad Pitt expressed optimism about the upcoming U.S. presidential election, which is now less than 50 days away. Speaking at the premiere of their new film Wolfs in Los Angeles, Clooney shared his thoughts with Variety reporter Marc Malkin, saying, "I’m feeling very hopeful." Pitt echoed his sentiment, simply adding, "Feeling hopeful."

In the election set for November 5, Vice President Kamala Harris will face former President Donald Trump. Clooney emphasized the importance of momentum, saying, “Momentum is a big deal, so I’m feeling hopeful.”

Clooney has been vocal about his views on the political scene. In July, he made headlines for an op-ed in The New York Times, where he urged President Joe Biden to end his campaign following a debate against Trump. Clooney voiced concern about Biden’s ability to win, pointing to his age and performance. He stressed that many Democrats shared his concerns privately, even if they hadn’t spoken out publicly.

After Biden announced his decision to drop out and endorse Harris, Clooney expressed strong support for her candidacy, stating that Biden had once again demonstrated true leadership. He added that he and others were excited to back Harris in her historic run for the presidency.

At the Wolfs premiere, Clooney and Pitt walked the red carpet together to promote their latest action-comedy film. In the movie, the two stars play professional fixers who are forced to work together on the same assignment. The film, which also features Austin Abrams, Amy Ryan, Poorna Jagannathan, and Richard Klein, will premiere on Apple TV+ on September 27.
