Chappell Roan Cancels Festival Performances Due to Mental Health Concerns

Chappell Roan has canceled her scheduled performances at the All Things Go music festival in New York City and Maryland due to health concerns. The "Hot To Go" singer explained to her fans via Instagram that she needed to take a break to focus on her mental well-being. In her statement, Roan expressed her regret to those who had been eagerly waiting for her shows, citing that recent pressures had become overwhelming.

She emphasized the importance of prioritizing her health to deliver the best performances in the future. "I want to be present when I perform and give the best shows possible," she wrote, thanking her fans for their understanding.

The festival organizers showed their support by sharing her message and offering their own well-wishes. Roan’s decision comes at a pivotal moment in her career, following the success of her 2023 album, The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, and her role as the opening act for Olivia Rodrigo's Guts World Tour.

Recently, Roan made headlines for her political views, particularly in a The Guardian interview, where she urged fans to think critically before voting. Her refusal to endorse either Kamala Harris or Donald Trump sparked some backlash. Roan later clarified on social media that she does not support Donald Trump and explained that voting and issuing endorsements are not the same.

Roan has also been open about her struggles with severe depression, which she believes has worsened due to her rise to fame. Despite these challenges, she remains committed to her career and recently celebrated winning the Best New Artist award at the 2024 MTV VMAs. In her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude to the queer community for their continued support.
